The candidate will be responsible for soliciting and documenting requirements and ensuring they are built into the system to meet customer expectations. This is a client facing position and you will become an expert in communicating application functionality and assisting in documenting requirements, testing and training. Analyze business related issues to formulate and develop new or modified solutions. Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify objectives and requirements. Assist customer in defining work processes. Develop functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, test reports and security requirements. Identify areas where systems solutions will meet the customer needs. The Business Analyst will document all requirements and testing efforts.


Bachelor’s Degrees in Business or Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education




Perform requirements gathering using a variety of techniques to define and document complex business requirements and processes
Create and maintain requirements documents and specifications
Create detailed descriptions of user needs and translate them into functional requirements specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable by developers
Record functional requirements in a repository
Participate in review sessions with technical and business staff, including all levels of management
Participate in code review sessions with development staff
Participate in creation of solutions that meet requirements
Manage and track requirements through the various lifecycle stages from business needs through design and delivery

Develop necessary software documentation and documentation of meetings and decisions
Prepare associated testing documentation to include user scenarios, test plans and test reports
Prepare user documentation on developed software and conduct training, if needed
Assist in troubleshooting software application issues
Maintain CMMI level 3 or higher processes and procedures


This position requires 3-5 years of experience as a Functional / System / Business Analyst role in a complex environment preferably a government contract
The candidate should demonstrate experience gathering requirements and designing the user experience with web applications
The candidate should demonstrate experience with iterative software development practices specifically the role of use cases in the analysis, development and testing processes
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills to work directly with development staff, users and the client
Experience with Help Desk support [Tier 1 and 2] is desired
Experience with tools for requirements management, testing and release management such as Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server [TFS] preferred
Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products
The ability to create and maintain technical documentation and user documentation is important
Experience working in a CMMI level 3 or higher environment is desired
Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities
Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours
