InterImage Recieves 8(a) Certification from the Small Business Administration

ARLINGTON, VA (June 6, 2007) – InterImage Corporation announces that it has received its 8(a) certification from the Small Business Administration. This new status enables InterImage to bid on larger contracts from the $6 Billion available in sole-source and set-aside contracts the Federal government awards to minority and other small disadvantaged businesses. Through the 8(a) program, eligible firms can be awarded Government contracts on a sole-source, non-competitive basis.

Leslie Steele, InterImage’s CEO, has commented that the 8(a) certification “will allow many Federal agencies to avail themselves of our core competencies such as business process engineering, system integration, case management and information management.”  Leslie Steele has recently been elected to Executive Vice Chairman of the Industry Advisory Council, a professional forum for government and industry leaders.

InterImage can now be awarded individual sole-source (non-competitive) Federal government contracts up to $3 million for goods and services. As an 8(a) InterImage may receive up to $100 million in sole source contracts during its program participation. Additionally InterImage may compete for procurements over $3 million that are set aside for competition only between 8(a) certified firms. As an 8(a), InterImage can receive a price evaluation preference of 10% on full and open competitive procurements for which they submit bids.

The SBA has enabled 25 Federal agencies to contact certified 8(a) firms directly to encourage awards to small disadvantaged businesses. 8(a) firms can form joint ventures and teams to bid on contracts.  With the 8(a) certification, InterImage is poised to expand as it faces new opportunities to bid on larger contracts among an exclusive field of competing 8(a) firms.
