InterImage Presents at Government Conference
Jon Kesler, Senior Consultant, InterImage, will co-present with Cheri Cannon, Deputy Associate Administrator, Office of Disaster Assistance, U.S. Small Business Administration at the Performance Measurement for Government Conference, April 12-14, in San Diego, CA. Their presentation, “How To Drive An Outcome-Focused, Strategy-Based Performance Measurement System,” is based on InterImage’s ongoing strategic planning, performance measurement, and transformation partnership with the Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA). In 2003, ODA began its performance management journey. By applying a unique, accelerated and collaborative approach to its dynamic requirements, the agency integrated and aligned strategic plans, annual performance plans, the Program Assessment Rating Tool (PART), and the overarching guidance contained in the President's Management Agenda. Through the strategies developed to meet program and performance goals, ODA set its long-term course and established the foundation for improving citizen-focused outcomes. The ODA staff is one year into the journey and, while their strategic goals remain the same, they have learned some valuable lessons along the way. They are now at a juncture to apply those lessons and fine tune their strategies to enhance outcomes and better meet their goals. During their presentation, Mr. Kesler and Ms Cannon will share lessons learned over the past year and talk about how ODA is moving forward on its continuing performance management journey, including:

• Assessing what performance outcomes really mean
• Refining goals to measure what's really important
• Adjusting strategies in the face of operational realities
• Breaking down barriers, shaking things up, and building a performance-based culture
